But the person who loves God is the one whom God recognizes.
1 Corinthians 8:3
When I approach God do I come knowing I will be accepted unconditionally or do I try to feel worthy? The context of the verses here is our perception of correctness before God and each other. In reality the latter doesn’t count for anything but so often shouts the loudest. And our pride hears loud and clear. But be encouraged, the Lord’s prayer has no prerequisites for approach; there is no qualification apart from being able to honestly and lovingly speak out the first two words – Our Father.
( A note to add about these new shorter posts – these ‘Exhorts’ are something new I’m starting to add, so I hope you find them helpful. Exhorts are to-the-point thoughts and exhortations focussed around a single Bible verse; think of them as an encouraging shot in the arm! – Phil)
